IrudiEU promotes the final phase of Digi4MSK with free online courses, educational resources and an international congress on musculoskeletal pain

2026/08/05

The European project Digi4MSK is entering its final stage with the launch of a wide range of free educational resources designed for both healthcare professionals and the general public. As the partner leading the project's communication and dissemination activities, IrudiEU is coordinating the promotion of these resources to ensure that evidence-based knowledge on musculoskeletal pain reaches those who can benefit from it most.

Over the coming months, Digi4MSK will offer free online courses, downloadable educational materials and an international congress bringing together leading European experts in musculoskeletal health literacy and pain management.

Free learning opportunities for professionals and the public

The project has developed two complementary online learning pathways.

Healthcare professionals can access practical training focused on patient communication, musculoskeletal health literacy, pain self-management, clinical reasoning and the implementation of person-centred, biopsychosocial care.

At the same time, people living with musculoskeletal pain and members of the general public can enrol in a dedicated course that explains pain using clear, accessible and evidence-based language, helping participants make informed decisions and become active partners in managing their health.

Evidence-based downloadable resources

Digi4MSK also provides two free publications.

The Practical Guide for People Living with Pain helps readers better understand pain, navigate healthcare information and develop the confidence to take an active role in their care.

Healthcare professionals can also download the Best Practice Guide, which offers practical recommendations on person-centred communication, pain self-management and evidence-based clinical practice.

International congress in Zaragoza

On 19 September 2026, Digi4MSK will host its Final Congress in Zaragoza, Spain, with both onsite and online participation available.

The event will feature interactive masterclasses and expert panel discussions covering patient communication, self-management, biopsychosocial approaches and person-centred musculoskeletal care.

International speakers include Mary O'Keeffe, Kieran O'Sullivan, Joanne O'Brien, Harriët Wittink, Domenico Compagnone and Thorvaldur Pálsson, among other recognised experts.

Communicating research beyond the project

As the communication and dissemination partner, IrudiEU plays a central role in ensuring that Digi4MSK's outcomes reach healthcare professionals, patients, institutions and stakeholders across Europe.

Through strategic communication, digital campaigns, social media management, media relations and dissemination activities, IrudiEU helps maximise the long-term impact and sustainability of the project's results.
